“Tellus” is a Latin word meaning Earth. This series was inspired by my visits to Peru which included aerial observations of the mysterious Nazca lines on Peru’s southern coast. In Tellus #2, I view the earth as two gigantic stones viewed as elevations, one resting on top of the other. On the surface of the stones are plan views of geographic occurrences including mountains, fault lines, rivers, oceans and deserts. The top stone balances precariously on its base reflecting the instability of our so called terra firma.
The how and why of the Nazca lines remains unknown.
